Feature 9: Equipment

When going into battle it is important for every warrior to be well armed. Dragon Oath features thousands of different kinds of equipment that can be obtained through various means. Equipments can be purchased, traded, obtained by opening chests, crafted, dropped by slaying monsters or earned as rewards through completion of quests. There are 14 different equipment slots for your character, which can be seen on the character panel. The character panel will display the equipment detail and its effect on your character’s stats.

Place your cursor over an item to see a full description of the item characteristics. Different equipment title colors correspond to the amount of additional properties an equipment has:
0 properties – White
1-2 properties – Green
3-4 properties – Dark green
5-6 properties – Blue
7-8 properties – Dark blue
9-10 properties – Purple
11-12 properties – Dark purple
13-14 properties – Dark gold
15-16 properties – Gold

Some items are part of special equipment sets. When one of these items is equipped with other parts of the same set, additional benefits will become available! The star level on an equipment can be used as a guide to assess the quality of the item. The more stars an equipment has, the higher the stats will be.

There are a variety of unique fashions for players to choose from. Patterns can be obtained in many ways. Players can pick up garments from monster drops or they can craft their own through the use of Life Skills. Weapons, armor, gloves, shoes, and class fashion items can all be viewed on your character.

Players can upgrade their weapons and armor by socketing them with special items and mystic gems that increase their attributes and effects. There are many NPCs throughout the world that can assist a player in socketing. Each equipment can socket up to three gems. Players can socket a fourth gem after a certain level. Sockets can be added to the following:
• Weapons
• Cloths
• Hat
• Wristbands
• Shoes
• Necklaces
• Belts
• Shoulder Pads

When adding gems to an item, it may fail depending on the number of gems being added:
3 gem success rate: 50%
4 gem success rate: 75%
5 gem success rate: 100%
For those concerned with losing their hard-earned equipment in battle there are several ways to protect your items. Players are able to Inscribe, Bind, and set a Security Password on their equipment. Each provide different options for your character to keep his items. Otherwise you can risk dropping them upon death!
