Dragon Oath Xmas In-Game Events

Luo Yang Blizzard- Starting on December 17th, Luo Yang will be getting hit with a huge snowstorm! Everything in the city will be blanketed with a thick layer of snow to kick off our annual Christmas events in Dragon Oath! This is just the first of many changes that you'll notice in the game for the winter, so take a look around and enjoy your new winter wonderland!

Snowman Chess Event-For Christmas this year, we've decided to add a special twist to one of our most popular events. Starting December 17th, if you take part in the Chess Challenge, you may see chess pieces that have been transformed into snowmen! Every Chess Challenge on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day and periodically on other days will have snowmen instead of the normal chess pieces. The white chess pieces become snowmen with red scarves, the black chess pieces become snowmen with green scarves, and the Ancient Chess Soul is a snowman with a yellow scarf! In addition to these changes, killing a snowman will give you significantly more experience than killing chess pieces does in the normal Chess Challenge.

Snowball Event- When walking through the frosty streets of Luo Yang, you'll probably notice the huge mounds of snow littering the streets. Search through these snow mounds to make snowballs that you can throw at other players! Each time you search through a mound of snow, you will receive 1 or 2 snowballs. Use the snowballs for snowball fights or to make a snowman in town to show off to other players.

Monster Diary Event-If you travel to the Silver Snowfield, you'll notice that there are tons of penguins running around the zone! During Christmas time, these penguins can be claimed as new pets. The penguins vary in level from 5 to 65, so players of many different levels can have a chance to claim a new companion! Look out for the penguins "BOSS" title - they have a chance to drop special items when they're killed. Also, the monsters in the area have a chance to drop monster diaries which can be traded to Tender Gong in Da Li for a new Class Outfit.

Snowman Event-In the heart of the city of Luo Yang, there's a giant Christmas snowman that gets larger if you throw snowballs at him! With each snowball that hits him, there's a chance he will drop treasure boxes! These treasure boxes contain unique items like Gems, Christmas Hats, Pet Eggs, and Dragon Spheres! When the small snowman has been hit with enough snowballs, he'll grow into a big snowman, followed by a Christmas Snowman on Christmas Day, with prizes getting better and better with each change!

Christmas Gift Event-In the spirit of the holidays, the Christmas snowman in Luo Yang is giving out presents for all of the players in Dragon Oath! Go visit him to receive your special Christmas gift. The contents of your gift vary based on your level, so you don't need to worry about whether or not you'll actually be able to use your present. Make sure you get your gift as soon as possible because the Christmas snowman will only be around for a limited time!

New Years Bell Event-From December 28th through January 10th, players can help ring in the New Year by striking Luo Yang's "Bell of Happiness". Various wild monsters can drop wooden mallets, instance bosses can drop rare golden hammers, and silver hammers can be requested from Cai Chu-Keh in Luo Yang. Ringing the bell is quite an experience; players can expect a generous boost to their EXP every time they strike the bell. And for a special treat, every 100 rings of the bell with the golden hammer will give players a rare fashionable gift. Using the Golden Hammer from 8:00pm – 10:00pm on New Year's Eve will provide the biggest boost of all.

Mysterious Pet Event-During the event period from December 28th 2009 to January 3rd 2010, Dragon Oath will give a mysterious pet to every player above Level 30 as a gift, which will be another story of the Duckling. If your current level is between level 30-level 59, you will get a Mysterious Pet Egg of level 5; if your current level is between level 60-level 89, you will get a Mysterious Pet Egg of level 55; if you are level 90, you will get a Mysterious Pet Egg of level 85. Do not give it up because of its common look! Raise it with love and devotion and when ready, take it to breed, as its Next Generation may bring you a big surprise!
