mounts for all classes are great right? but is it just me or can only the warrior/guardian can not use their own skills but every other class can? (while mounted that is? :S i think its a big disadvantage cause like i get **** inn pvp since everyone uses mounts and i only have 2 skills while they have all theirs D:
VG btw using Beetle. :S dont flame me im just asking

Well, casters kinda sorta *need* their mounts, (We're so darn squishy!). My worst fear? An "indoor" (no mount) instance. *shudder*

but look in royal im on my bettle, smacking a healer and all they needa do is heal while i smack and no one even aims me because i cant do any dps :S
yes VG tank right? but atleast let me do something to the most paper classes DE/DR but NOP i sit there and watch as they kill my teamates while im smacking them :D they sometimes dont even needa heal just confuse and im done leave me to the side.
I did this to you and i am 10 levels lower and i would of beaten you so i agree its a little unfair, add extra skills to vg/rw mounts though, rather than giving them skills to use while mounted.

The VG/RW mounts are geared more to tanking, not fighting (other people do the fighting). They give hp, and have aggro skills etc.
I 'spose but tanking isnt good if a healer that isn't even that good can own a high level vg/rw

yes tanking right? but this is pvp. i wouldnt mind if people had to force focus atk me. yeh i wouldnt mind but nope i cant tank for my teamates i see them get raped :)
tanking with mounts isnt that good. its only good for like what 3 bosses maybe? canopy,the wolf spider, blaze ox? what else can u use mounts to tank that is hard?

yeah, mounts for tanks are more geared for PvE. they have taunt skills ... no use here! on the flip side, all the tank skills are 2-player mounts and a rider can hop on you. it sucks i know, im a RW. all the cool looking mounts and i have no incentive to use them in combat.

yeh but their isnt much pve wise spots where ur mount will actually be useful, the places which they are good for are mostly instances but of course u cant use them in there :P
that one extra person would be most likely a dps? or healer right? well they can sit on their own mount and do better :S

In all mmo's tanks have major problem with 'overDPSing' healing skills (sometimes even pots).. maybe in future VG will have added skill with long cooldown but huge dmg (something like dmg multipled/related with HP) in order to enable him making an upperhand blow.
Another thing is at last a 'kiting classes' have more opportunities to stay alive heh.

I dunno the skills here yet ... but Tanks are usually just [low dmg+high def+Taunt like skill] ... they rarely(almost never) hav any High dmg output skills ...

tanks are meant to take lots of damage...BUT I feel they must also be able to dish a fair amount out ,or to some degree they become a waste...many players just ignore them & kill thier team then return to the finish off the tank last...
I agree with AF, thats the point of the thread, although tanks are already incredibly powerful mounted combat is unfair atm.

No they do not, they must be able to do some crowd control not to become a waste, that's all. (and they already are able to, ignore a good tank at your own risk)

one of the best crowd control mount skills comes from mages. its the hermit crab skill, its an AoE confusion skill to whoever is not mounted. so not only can mages can have the mount defense, cast skills, plus they have a very good cc skill. they do it better than the tanks.
Mounts are a touchy topic for combat, however i noticed, any time i fought a tank of similar level, they let my get low mp, worked out my skills and their current cooldowns and then waited till i was the lowest on hp i had been and they demounted and crushed me in seconds. So to a skilled tank mounted pvp is still possible, not as good however.
