I notice that [player name] in blue usually are able to right click but this doesnt let you.

Check if the character in the screen shot is you yourself or another player, because you can only right click other players to give invites, exchange items and other stuff.
P.S. If you look really carefully at the name color of you yourself and other player, you will find that they are two different blues(or you can say the latter is purple) usually people do not notice that
