No matter what I do my focus is stuck on the chat bar. always the blinking cursor.
Any ideas, someone please help meeee.

It's like that by default.
You can change it by pressing Esc (in game), Game, click "Disable Chat" (should show as a red button to be enabled.)
Now when you want to chat, you have to press Enter. Also with Disable Chat enabled, you now don't need to press Alt anymore. Such as inventory, you don't need to press Alt + A, only A.

Thanks I will try that...
That worked, but having enabled by default is awfully contradictory to past precedents on how the chat system works.
