View Full Version : Force to use Exchange Server to Sell

I would love to see everyone use the Exchange server instead of in the middle of town. The developers spent time setting up a very nice system and no one uses it. It would also cut down on the lag in town.
I like to go shopping when I want to and not have the area littered with shops making it hard to see the trainer.
If people make shops in town they need to be kicked out of the game. That way we would be forced to start using the Exchange server. Also it does not cost a fee to set up shop on the Exchange server.
I also heard the Exchange server is for both servers not just Hare so more of a choice and better economy.

This is a really good idea.
With the amount of stands and dancers hogging the server especially past midnight, I would totally support the exchange server.
Better yet, you can shop from both servers.

Also many people don't know this but you can get an XP jade from Grandpa Luck in the middle of the exchange server everyday.

I really like this idea. Between the shops and the dancing-mob lag can get pretty crazy in the city. Just make it impossible to set up shops in the normal servers and I bet they'd all move over to the exchange.

Love the idea! If we have an exchange server, why do we allow people to sell in the cities?

its in the available quest list but new players won't think to look in the exchange server for the NPC or even know how to get therei had trouble finding it at first.
about the OP, i totally agree. i see no stalls on the exchange server. its dead empty! and maybe since we're on the topic, maybe make the exchange server like a grid or in rows so its not a jumble of shops.

I reckon its a great idea!! I was wondering why no one used it. On a side not maybe add some NPC vendors there and places for Lifeskills. It would greatly boost the popularity of the place.

One slight drawback to the Exchange server is the gate fee of 50 copper. It's negligable but it'd still add up if that became your place to shop.
I also like how different people have selected certain positions in town to setup shop; with the Exchange server, your choices are pretty no-brainers.
Having said that, I do; however, support the move of players peddling on the Exchange server. But of course, the migration of players there will be long and slow.

I second that, serene city plaza is getting way too crowded with stalls already (and exchange is always empty).
Maybe lowering the entry fee to exchange? Or waiving it entirely?

I had absolutely no idea where Grandpa Luck was, I searched here and found this thread (THANKS FOR THE INFO!! :D )
I think there should be a scrolling announcement every few hours to let people know what the exchange server is and maybe include that is where you find Grandpa Luck.
I will be putting my shop up on the Exchange Server from now on, spread the word people, get the people started moving :)
I like the idea there should be more drive to go to the exchange server but kicking people in town, some people haven't learnt about the exchange and thats why they sell in town, others do it because they want to be able to start again from serene, admittedly these aren't great reasons but they are reasons non-the-less, let people make them but just have a bigger drive to go to exchange, atm its already becoming more popular after storm test.

If people make shops in town they need to be kicked out of the game. That way we would be forced to start using the Exchange server. Also it does not cost a fee to set up shop on the Exchange server.
I think if a message pops up if you make a shop suggesting you use the Exchange realm and then offering to port you there, that would probably help. I know that I didn't even know about the Exchange right away when I started playing.

Lots of folks on the Exchange server now. Most experienced people use it.
Any chance of getting a newbie quest to explain how it works for new folks?

I highly recommend the following regarding the aspect of peddling within the game
1. Place a Bazaar Entrance somewhere the city for people to know that it exists...this leads to the Exchange Server market place.
This way, curious players who happen by and use the entrance will learn of the Exchange Server Marketplace. (I never knew of the Exchange Server until I searched for "Bazaar" here on the forums)
The interface for which they do so will be more grounded to the game world. There seems to be a disconnect when I have to click on the menu and hit Exchange Server. I feel like I'm "leaving my game" when I shop at the Exchange Server.
2. Remove the Exchange Server gate fee...instead replace it with a fee that's applicable only after a transaction is made.
You incentivize players who just want to just look.
3. Can you leave your pet to peddle the store for you? Peddling with my character and just waiting for buyers to come along is not fun.
4. A way for Items for sale to be searchable. Browsing each peddling stall can take really long.
Anyway, even if any of my ideas aren't considered. I still recommend the devs to look into improving their peddling system. There's a lot of potential for it to complement Zentia's awesome crafting system.

it simply wont work,few examples
we sell as guildshop several crafted things
jewelery did not sell on our 2nd town, but did sell right away on exchange server
(cheap even for yellow 60sh)
mounts didnt sell at exchange at all,but right away in 1.town on hare
resources sell by far more next to the crafting npcs in 1.& 2. town
clothes,dont sell well at all
let the player chose where to sell
btw..there is a stall search function
open one stall, use the upside button, and you get a list with all stalls, without the need to move from one to another, and you can buy right away..
[surrounding stalls] is it called
well, short said, dont limit or force anyone to sell in specific places, things sell where they are needed, not everyone jumps over to exchange for a few pots,or a skill.. then they simply buy from npc
and "i cant see the npc or trainer" isnt even right, learn the keys, then you will notice a button [f12] get close to where the npc is hit f12 and you see the npc right away to click, all player are removed then, unless you move again.
dont see any use in demanding any change here, unless you demand less fee, then i would agree..

this thread got started because Serene was filled with stalls and it was an eye sore to see. f12 won't help because it goes away after you move. no one knew about the exchange server but if we give all the sellers a push in the right direction, everyone will follow like sheep. the cities are much better now. mission accomplished.
now i agree that there should be a choice but there should also be limits.
