I've finished reading Dresden Files (At least, the last paperbacks. Waiting for "Changes" to arrive in my library because I'm too stingy to pay for hardback.)

Does anyone have any other books or series to recommend? I'm a big fan of fantasy, sci-fi, and horror. I can't stand romance novels. Which brings me to.....

The Sookie Stackhouse novels. I tried reading them and just couldn't get past all the romance. That, and Sookie is about as dense as a brick. I actually forced myself through three of the books because a friend raved about them and I kept thinking, "They have to get better. They can't all be this bad!" I finally quit, though.

To get a sense of your reading style, what other books or series have you enjoyed?

Okay, let's see..

Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher
Alera Codex series by Jim Butcher
Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks
Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series by Tad Williams
Stainless Steel Rat series by Harry Harrison
Myth Adventure Series by Robert Aspirin
Disc World series by Terry Pratchet
Hitchhiker's Guide series by Douglas Adams
Thieves World series edited by Robert Aspirin
Dune series by Frank and Brian Herbert
Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan

There are more, but I think that gives a good start! *grins* There are other series that I started out liking but eventually gave up on, like the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. Liked the first couple of books but, then, Goodkind just got preachier and preachier as the series went on until I couldn't stomach it anymore.
