Hey I got this crazy idea for either the OB or CB or maybe even PCB.

A RACE.

Yep, you heard me right, a race. Have a race between all the players and whoever wins gets the prize. If you guys are interested in this I'll write down some more about it.

:pSURE! You can tell us the details of what's in your mind, and we may make it achieved! You can also sent us an E-mail on (http://cde.us.changyou.com/do/web_service/bug_submit.jsp?id=106&submit=0&idParent=105&v=1210738cf6d67340019f6d88c426e599&t=100,102,104,105&p=0) Thank you very much!

Ok Here it goes step by step:

1. All the participants gotta pay an entry fee to join the competition

2. They can use any skills to raise their movement speed except for mounts(cause then it would be easier for those with mounts. But I dont know yet on how to exclude mount)

3. Now the main question can be how to make player line up for the race? I have a single idea for that. What we can do is make an npc give out the quest at the exact time. This way every one will get the quest at an exact time, which will make a virtual startup line. ( and as for the countdown, it can be given out through the announcement panel in the game)

4. It can be between cities or in a single city(that will be upto admins, as how to go with that.)

5. As to how to end the race, the player must get to another npc and complete the quest.

6. You may ask me, what 'bout the auto-path? For that, the quest description shouldn't give any information except for the coordinates of the map and if its in a different city, city name and the coordinates.

7. But if its in another city, you can do a relay type thing, because if its a race using multiple cities then everyone will use teleport. So what you can do is start from a city, one has to go to adjacent map area to complete quest with a npc, get another from same then move on to next area and so on.

8. The winner will be decided by the latest to earliest one to reach the npc, and to solve the conflict you can even make npc stop accepting quest after certain players reaching it. The winner will get the total winnings and also some ingame prize.

I don't know if you know it or not, but I have seen couple o games with these type of events and it is way more fun than it sounds.:D

If am right, Pyromancer have a skill to increase there speed, how is this fair on other classes which do not have a +speed skill? your looking at only 1 class winning that.

I don't think pyromancer is the only class which can increase there speed. But you're right, not all the classes has the speed buff, because I know that vodoo has it too. So this is the part I haven't properly figured out yet.:(. Or maybe I don't know much about other classes yet, maybe other classes have the speed buff too. I would like the admins to answer that, whether other classes have the speed buffs or not. Regardless, I would surely love to see people helping me with this idea. But I think if there is an event like this, it will be fun and people will come together for it, it will be harmonious for the game.:)

Thanks a lot for your nice ideas about race, but there indeed have some problems on how to ensure the fairness of the race, since except Pyromancer, there are some other classes have the skills of increasing their speed, such as Assassin, Royalty, Beggars Alliance and ShaoLin. In addition, with the growth of the character’s feats, there still has a greater chance to get their speed improved. So, it seems that we need much more thoughts on this plan. Thanks anyway! Your amazing ideas on this game are highly appreciated! Wish you a happy time in Dragon Oath!;)

Suggestions for Improving the original Suggestion

--->Perhaps the "race" can be held to certain levels/class levels....as in, one race for players in each category and the levels separated into sets of 10, (1-10, 10-20, etc.).

--->Each "level" of the race should be a certain length. (1-10 kept around the beginner city Da Li, with NPC locations in White Plains and Mt. Infinity, the highest levels racing all over the map in order to find their npcs/get quest items)

--->the coordinates of the NPC that needs to be found should NOT be given with the quest, only the name of the map they can be found on. (From Da Li, the quest giver says: Find Ye Sun in White Plains [coordinates unknown] for your next instruction.)

--->To make it even more difficult (and fair), you could leave the map indicator for the NPC at "off", so you wouldn't be able to find him by pulling up the map.

--->In maps that are NOT cities, have the racer be required to kill a certain monster (number of monsters?) or find a certain item that drops from a specific monster on that map area in order to get the next target of the quest.

--->Do not allow "NPC skipping". Even if someone farther ahead in the race says "oh, the final npc is in Luo Yang", if someone decides to skip ahead to that NPC, they will be told that they are "not authorized" to complete the quest. (maybe have each npc along the way give a quest item "Race Voucher 1" that get taken by the next npc on the trip, and replaced with a new set of "Race Voucher ??".

---> Make it a group mission. One must be in a Team of 4 (with different classes?) to compete. (Additional Options: do not change team leader, do not change party members....though this might not be a good idea, if someone d/c while doing the race. Maybe give 5 min timer for d/c'd player to log back in and rejoin team?)

--->Require that all team members be in the SAME map area (within certain range of each other?) to get the next quest item.

Those are some pretty damn good ideas. Hope devs will incorporate races *crossing fingers*
