Heard about it from the interviews. That's the only way I found those videos hehe. So is it really the 3rd most popular MMORPG in Asia... or China... or wherever? O.O

Yep, I knew about it - haven't played it, but read about it and seen screenshots. The story seems huge - I wonder how much of it carries over into the game...

i have yet to see any mmo that can integrate well with an epic story...or maybe i'm just too picky :P

I think the problem with most stories in an MMO is just that players are mostly looking inward for their entertainment purposes. What I mean by that is just...getting to higher levels, getting better/cooler looking gear. I've even been guilty of not paying too much attention to what I'm doing story wise just to rush through to compete with friends to get to the next level. Dragon Oath seems to have a really engrossing world and is different from most other US MMORPGs. I think I may take my time to read my quests while running between locations if this story is as good as they say.

The story (the novel) in my opinion is one of the Classics out there. How much will that carry over to the game, I doubt not too much, since I believe the game's plot writers will want to present a fresh take on the story to players to keep their attention.

But I would say most players will be rushing through to level up, I mean who can resist those leveling up events where you level up to like Level 50 in 2 days and you get some nifty in-game gear and items? :p

Lub the series, lub the game~~~ I've played the chinese version and enjoyed it a lot but coz my chinese are not too good... so didn't continue :((

The game relates a lot with the story but after the westernising the game, we'll have to see what it turns into I suppose

So this is based on the chinese novel series by Jin Yong?
awesome. :] it was always one of my favourite martial art stories. the other one i loved was Condor Heroes.

It's rather creative how each sect became a job of its own.
But i'm curious to one thing...
The beggar sect... I don't really remember them using poison o.0
Or am i confusing it with the Condor Heroes stories.
xiang long shi ba zhang (18 fists of the descending dragon) i know was from Condor Heroes. And the dog-beating rod styles.

I've heard of Tian Long Ba Bu, because I think my parents have read it. I've never heard of the original Dragon Oath, though.
