View Full Version : Nothing Happens wen trying to start game

I looked around the forums, but could not find a solution. I ran the launcher and stuff. The patch and everything works fine but when clicked the start button, nothing happens. Is there a way to fix this? I really want to try this game out.

My laptop specs are:

Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4 Ghz
4GB RAM
Window 7 RC Build 7100
Nvidia GEFORCE 9300 MGS

umm, idk, i was having the same problem, i just restarted the client over again, cause after the path, the client froze, so i just reseted it and the start button came up and ran the client. However Idk, if its acause of Windows 7 maybe not being compatible? Or maybe have a Firwall turned on. I dont really know, but hey, its worth a try :S

Sir, there are a whole lotta patches. Make sure you are running the right ones. Also, make sure the client installer is 602 MB in size. Cutoff d/ls are the number one cause of failures. Other than that, screenies are appreciated.

Incidentally, as of the timestamp of this post, if you download the client and the FIRST patch, you should be covered. Install the client first, then run the patch. If they are both run manually (and your directory information is correct) you should be cozy.

Ok, first off, I have the latest patch as of today. However, same problem still persist. You said I should post some screenies, but what is there to post if nothing pops up??

You can screenie your windows desktop (and block out the naughty bits in paint if you have them). This helps immensely in general technical troubleshooting.

As for "most up to date patch" I have no doubt you have a recent patch. Remember that you should be running them manually and also to check version number translation. There are three "most recent patches" available on the patch page today. One for players that just downloaded the client, one for players that were playing yesterday, and one for players that haven't played in awhile. Using the wrong patch doesn't help your case.

Well I dont think this problem has to do with the patch because my bro did the same thing and its working fine for him.

Nope not at all. THe game just doesnt launch when I press start. I think ill just give up for now.

Sounds like a Vistacular problem. Run it as an admin else it will keep getting "securitized".

(I know that you are running 7. If your brother has admin privileges and you don't, though, the problem is still one that originated in Vista. Non admin accounts have problems with games)

Well, its definitely not a run as admin problem because :
1. My account is admin ( me and my bro have our own laptops so..)
2. I disable UAC and I ran the game as admin as well as trying to setting the compatibility to Window XP.

none works so I guess I won't be playing this game anytime soon.

Well, that is a headscratcher!

The only things left that could be interfering is that you have a bot or ancillary hacking program running that security isn't letting in OR, more likely, the default port for the game is being occupied by another service on your machine, possibly unique to Windows 7. I guess at this point, to play the game would require a technical person to find out which chat programs or voice programs you are using and find out what ports are being blocked and unblock them.

Alternatively, if you and your brother are trying to play at the same time and on the same network there is the rare case that you two are sharing an IP (because you are networked through the same gateway) and that gateway will only allow one of you to use the same port at a time. This would involve the even hairier solution of changing the default port used to run the client.

I have most likely same problem as u...and im running Win.7
Ive try all soloution on here but nothing work...and yes I downloaded the client direct from main website of Dragon Oath (don't tell me u put the wrong client up there):
a friend introduced me to this game but after all ..I just can't play..well seems like i dont have luck with this game back to my other game...good luck all

oh ..lol can any1 tell me how to reply using " Quick Reply" ?

My advice is check your firewalls and settings on what is blocked and allow that program

if that doesnt work uninstall and install it back again
you might not have something that is required to make it work though so check that out to if it still doesnt work make sure you have the right ones


another thing .. try getting rid of the patches and getting the actual thing .. not a patch to update
if that made sense

also if needed try downloading it from other carriers other than this site
