I just got my key and loaded the game i keep getting a server timed out messege but i have 50 meg download and 10 meg upload speed is there perhaps another reason for this?

If you read the Closed Beta Announcement Thread.
Pre-Closed Beta shuts down at 12AM PST. And if you didn't get your Key before the 18th then you couldn't have participated in it anyways. Also, the Closed Beta servers, what your key is for, open up tomorrow at 9AM PST.
Thats when you can start playing.
